Attention Single Homeowners
In lieu of Valentine's Day I have decreed Saturday, February 14th to be Home Heating Systems Awareness Day. My engineer friend will be coming over and explaining to me the intricacies of my boiler and we will be brainstorming / daydreaming about the many heating alternatives I might think about for my home. I believe Hallmark has missed a real opportunity here.
Renters, you're on your own.
Is Home Heating Systems Awareness Day only to be celebrated by single folk? Can those of us who are married participate?
BTW, having just moved from a forced air-heated condo to a radiator-heated home, I'd say old-style steam radiators are the way to go. Very efficient, few allergy problems (no dust is stirred up), and less maintenance.

Dave, I think HHSAD is an equal-opportunity holiday, but (just a hunch here) I wouldn't count on your wife being terrifically enthusiastic about the substitution of HHSAD for Valentine's Day.

I'm down, even though I rent. My apartment is in a renovated 150-year-old townhouse, so everything is quirky. The heat works, but once it reaches the temperature you set on the thermostat, it start blowing cold air!? To avoid this, I have to essentially turn it off during the day, and when I get home, slowly creep it up to a comfortable level, so it's always blowing hot. Anyway, I will certainly be "aware" of my home heating system on Saturday, and that's what HHSAD is all about, isn't it?
