It's not even eight AM and it's already a banner day. Why? Well, first off you should have seen the way the morning sun lit up the buildings and houses on the far side of the cove with this luminous red-orange light. And second, I was FAST on my intervals, faster than Housemate who is four inches taller than me and in fantastic shape, which felt pretty good (last night I went to my new gym and did some pretty intensive work on the treadmill, which I think will help me carry these bursts of speed). And the three legged dog continues to amaze with her wily speed, her unflappable happiness, and her new loping gait. But the biggest thing was that I got EYE CONTACT and a mumbled "Morning," and I could swear, the faintest shadow of a smile from the Mysterious Walker. He has brown eyes, and he looked away as usual but then he looked back and I belted out "good morning" and he mouthed it back to me. Housemate was tangled up with her boyfriend's dog so didn't witness it but I swear it's true. And then after the walk we made up some oatmeal with bananas and a nice fried egg on top. What a good way to start the day.
