A strawberry rhubarb pie
A package of hot dog rolls from the top of the refrigerator (that was one talented dog)
A loaf of bakery fresh bread from my car
Several rubber bands
Nasty nasty smelly old crab and mussel shells from the beach nearby
A discarded frozen turkey tetrazini dinner, found in the street.
A stick of butter and the saran wrap that was covering it, just this morning.
Not all of these items were consumed by the three legged wonder dog. She can't reach the top of my fridge, and would be horrified to eat something off a plate, on the counter. But nasty crab shells and rubber bands and turkey tetrazini TV dinners get vacuumed up with enthusiasm.
[Update: I just remembered a sort of horrible and delightful college experience -- an eccentric classmate of mine and fellow member of the sailing team used to carry around a pet snake everywhere, keeping it in his pocket and inviting girls to hold it, etc. We on the sailing team came to hate that snake. So it was a happy occasion when our friend took the snake out to show someone and a nearby german shepard bit the thing in half and happily consumed what he'd bitten.]
MY Cacalier King Charles Spaniel female has been eating things that she shouldn't since the day we got her, some of which include a childs sock, an ear muff, hair elastics and scrungee's and just this week a pair of panty hose, (at my in laws house, I had no idea about those. She vomitted everthing out eventually with exception to the panty hose and this she pooped out along with blood and other matter from her body. Basically huge amounts of worry and money have been spent at the vet's and really they don't do anything unless you spend a few thousand dollars. There are no immediate treatments, just wait it out. The ear muff was in her for 2 months, and the hair scrungee for a month. And she's very healthy up until the day it comes out and then she is extremely sick. I wouldn't wish this on any owner or pet.

I have a daschund that will track and hunt moles. Dig them up and kill them. He will eat kitty poo. I have a chihuahua that will eat out of the litter box. I have also seen them eat each others puke. My 3 year old pooped in the yard and before I could get it up my lab ate it all like it was delicious. Its gross. We also witnesses our chihuahua eat cat poop that was dangling out of the cats butt. Talk about liking it fresh. yuk...Our dogs drug a dead buzzard in the yard and ate and rolled on it forever. We would get rid of it and they would go find it and bring it back. Its been a year now and I think I saw a feather from that nasty bird in our yard yesterday.

MY last dog, a Rotti named Peyote loved butter, sugar, soap and toothpaste. We had to keep both the soap and toothpaste in the medecin cabinet, so he couldn't get them. One time he ate a new tub of majaring... we didn't even get a chance to put the groceries away first. The odd thing was that in the same bag was a bunch of deli meat, but he never touched that.
Draco, my 10 month sheppard/hound will eat anything from kitty litter bonbons to whole sticks. Half the time I have no idea what to expect to come out in his poop. I only get concerned if he starts acting strange. Last week, he had blue poop. A couple of days later he pooped out something that looked like blue stuffing or fabric. When I emptied the poop bag into the toilet, the water turned blue. I still have no idea what it was.

My yellow lab just ate two half thawed chicken breasts. Are raw chicken bad for a dog? She has ate chocloate, two dress socks, wood, and coffee grounds, so I hope she will be already. Glad to know I am not alone with the garbage disposal pooch.

My son took my granddog outside one morning and the dog kept straining and straining to go to the bathroom. My son saw something white hanging from the dogs butt, and went into the house to get rubber gloves. He tugged and tugged at the white thing and finally pulled out a tampon. We still are all laughing over that one.

I can remember my early days as a young boy and a stray mutt that found it's way to my house. Seems that all the strays (not just dogs)cats, hurt birds and a duck. I guess I was a young Dr. Doolittle..Anyway, this mutt was the prettiest little thing at about
6 months I guessed and had an appetite like a teen age boy. It ate everything that wasn't nailed down (and some things that were). Anything that would come up missing we would blame it on "dumb dog" which seem to fit him pretty well. A few days after he arrived, a red sock came up missing from the backyard clothes line and..you guessed it..althought we didn't know for sure that he had eaten it we suspected it. The vet told us to follow him around the yard for a couple of days to see if he passed it. On the third day-wallah!- the red sock was hanging half way in and half way out! The vet removed it so that we didn't injure him by pulling it out ourselves. We found "Dumb Dog" a home a few weeks later..

My childhood dog, Pepper, once ate a tin ant trap. It was the size of a hockey puck, had sharp metal edges and poison inside. He lived for many years after that and once ate a live frog. Afterwards he had a frothy mouth. My parents dog ate a broken popsicle stick and passed it succesfully and a rubberband which was passed semi-successfully and my dog just ate one stick of butter out of three and a half that I put on the floor in front of the heater to warm up for baking I caught him with a greasy nose.(today is my birthday)and that's how I found this site.

Well, I feel a little better now that I have read what you dogs have survived.
I just caught my dalmation finishing up a 7in Sugar Starfish that I bought for a decoration.
Other than that he eats all the regular stuff, poop, dog beds(only after mounting them first) and all food unless it is green.

Here are two that I didn't see on the list yet: when my last dog was a puppy he ate a condom...how embarrassing! And then there was the time he ate an entire box of crayons. Talk about some colorful poop!

So far, my puppy (7 months) has managed chewing gum (emergency vet for that one), chocolate chip cookies, small rocks, pieces of food that should have choked him (snatched from my hand without warning), tile grout, dog hair, nail clippings... I shudder to think what else he'll manage to find!!

Lets see...my Dobergirl loves all the doggie norms such as poop of any variety except dog (thank god), cat litter (a recent thing just confirmed by the clay colored dog poop in the back yard), bathroom trash, and anything semi-consumable she can get off the counter. She also has a huge affinity for knee-high nylons. Fortunately they pass right through most of the time. And for the times that don't...that's why there are rubber gloves. Another strange non-food obsession of hers is guitar picks...if you drop one she snatches it up and swallows it before you can bend over.

our german shepard 4mos old and she ate a rodent. She was found in the yard eating a dead bird. I hate to talk about it but it's true. Now she not allowed to roam around in the yard alone.
