Beautiful Women

I have been wanting to link to this post by Madeline about meeting her sweet pea after a spell of miserable dating and self-doubt, and then this morning I read this truly wonderful post by Tequila Mockingbird about moments and people that make you feel beautiful.

Sometimes beautiful women forget how beautiful they are. I like both of these posts because of the doubt in them, and also the confidence. A woman who never forgets she's beautiful and fascinating, never falters or wonders, well, I can't really relate. And a woman who never gets to a place where she believes that she's beautiful and fascinating, no matter what the world tells her, that's too terribly sad. The play of life, as I see it, is in between, and the magical way the right person's response can change your sense of hope and possibility. Read the posts. This awkward paraphrasing isn't working.

I don't mean to sound mean, and I have no idea what this woman looks like...but women seem to have pretty liberal conceptions of women and their beauty...Julia Roberts is not attractive to most men, but women and gay men seem to think she's gorgeous.
