What I Want Out Of My Volunteer Time

I want to be needed, and to see with some directness how things that I know how to do can help.
I want to believe in what the organization does in the world.
I want to work alongside cool people, who are different from me, and who have talent and passion and energy, and I want the volunteering to be a bridge to new friendships.
I want to be appreciated for what I can do, and not made to feel guilty for what I can't.
I want there to be lots of structured opportunities to help, that I can easily decide whether or not I can do.
I want a minimum of interpersonal / group dynamic drama or political infighting or factions.
I want to learn things.
I want to be able to see the way the energy of individuals has contributed to the organization.
I want to feel proud of and connected to the organization.
