Fourteen: I'm up a little bit early, to walk fourteen miles. I think this morning is the only time I can do it this weekend. I'm back into the marathon training; have picked a late January marathon in warmer climates to train for. Last weekend I did my first long walk, a twelve miler. While I was partway through a guy I don't know all that well, new to the area, called me up and asked if I wanted to have brunch or go outside. I am outside, I replied, and invited him to join my walk. So he walked about eight of my twelve miles, cheerily. And he called me yesterday wondering if I was going to do another long walk this weekend. I think I'll do five or six miles alone, then call him to see if he wants to join in for the remainder.
Twenty-one: Last night I was out with a 42 year old friend of mine, an engineer who's constantly looking for his soulmate. When I asked how the hunt was going he giggled and confessed he'd spent the day in bed with a twenty-one year old young woman, after meeting her for a first date for lunch. It mirrors a conversation I expect to have with another dear friend of mine, a little older than me. He, too, is romping around with twenty-one and twenty-two year old women. The phenomenon makes me feel like a spinster aunt. My thirty-second birthday is coming right up. Maybe I should get some cats.
Don't get the cats just yet; there are 21 year-old men out there, too.

Hmmm...a 42-year-old man who giggles while speaking indiscreetly. Sounds like anyone past their teen years would be too mature for him.
I second the first commenter. When I was 21, I dated a woman in her 30s, and I like to think we both benefitted from the relationship (albeit in different ways).

I was 19 she was 35 WOW. A 40 something guy is not going to find a soulmate in a 21 year old body. If your shopping for pears you better be looking in the produce section.

Mira Sorvino (who must be about 35 or 36???) just married a 21 year old. And don't forget about Demi Moore and Joan Collins.
(If you read People Magazine, you have all this information at your fingertips.)
