So I've been blogging for a couple of years now; first played around with Blogger in 2002, then moved to Typepad and this blog in Sept of 2003. And I've had side blogs, etc. So I thought I knew something about blogging. But this week I've been putting a lot of time into the LexThink blog and suddenly I'm learning a ton of things, mostly technical. I'm trying to cut and paste content from a bunch of different sources -- mostly emails and Word documents, sometimes people's web pages, and am discovering formatting quirks and limitations of Typepad. The blog displays differently in IE than in Firefox. Extremely differently -- big hunks of content are omitted in Explorer; posts that belong in a particular category aren't listed in the category index; paragraphs are omitted from the posts. It's baffling. And I'm beginning to see the HTML and all the metadata associated with text that I cut and paste from another source. It's eye-opening, for sure. And maddening.
that depends - which app are you using: Wordpress, MT, Serendipity, B2, Greymatter, or...?
For the record, MT is very easy to use, and Wordpress only slightly less so. All of the others drive me NUTS.
