Happy New Year. Woke up to a splitting headache and scorching sore throat. Not the result of frolicking last night, I can report. Some kind of cold-fever thing. I'm currently wearing a sweater and my down parka, two pairs of socks, fuzzy pants, a soft warm hat, and am a little bit shivery. Yuk. It'll be gone tomorrow, I'm sure. That's the kind of year 2006 is going to be. I can feel it.
Resolutions may or may not appear here soon. That's useful information, isn't it? I have several of them, but they're not all that interesting, and I don't want to be tedious just for the sake of complete disclosure. I never promised you guys complete disclosure, anyway, and if you're starting to expect it we've taken a wrong turn someplace.
One blog-relevant resolution is that I'll start podcasting this year. May not do it in connection with Stay of Execution, but I'll certainly play around with the technology and do some podcasts. I'll link to it, wherever I end up doing it. I don't think I'm as expressive with my voice or with sounds as I am in text, so that feels daunting. I'm not intrinsically interested in mixing the sounds and producing something that sounds polished. But I need to get on the bandwagon, just so as to keep from being left in the dust by technology. And I think there might be some ways in which my voice can be expressive in a compelling and different way than text is. I'll be thinking about what those ways are.

I'm not sure I'd trust someone who did promise complete disclosure to a bunch of complete strangers on the internet. For one thing, complete disclosure rarely makes for good writing -- have you read a corporate prospectus lately? Neither have I, and that's the point.

Will you be podcasting with another blog and psuedonym? What do we win if we figure out which new podcaster is you? Will the podcaster confess if someone accuses her of being Scheherazade?
