I just got rid of my queen sized bed, in exchange for a funky four-poster that my grandmother wanted me to have. It's a funny size -- halfway between a twin and a full size bed. That seems to be the proportion not only in width but also in length, so it's just barely long enough for me. A taller person would have toes-off-the-end problems. I haven't slept on a bed this small since my junior year in college, I think. And even then the twin mattresses were extra-long. My whole bedroom is different -- there's a lot more space, and the space is defined differently, with the four bedposts. Besides the bed itself, I've brought in a different lamp, a chair, a nightstand, and two framed antique maps, all from my grandparents' place. It's an entirely different room. I wonder what kind of dreams I'll have.
