and the boss has already called. It's Saturday morning. Last night my old friend and his girlfriend mysteriously didn't appear or answer my calls, so instead of going to the concert I was holding tickets for I went home and curled up with a book. Which is what I'd wanted to do anyway, but still, it's always a bit unsettling to be stood up.
And today's plans to go out on the boat with the H.O.T. girls and practice maneuvers, as well as participating in the Casco Bay Scavenger Hunt -- a day of sailing around taking digital photos of landmarks, seals, etc. -- has been decisively vetoed by heavy rain and no wind. It's been rescheduled for tomorow.
So early this morning I met with my dad to see how I can help putting my grandfather's affairs in order, and when I walked back into the house the phone was ringing and it was my boss, asking me a million questions about the memo I gave him yesterday on the status of several matters. I talked them through with him, told him how much I've enjoyed working with him, and we said our goodbyes.
So far, an inauspicious beginning to unemployed life.
I wonder if you've considered starting your own solo practice.
