Have they moved on to the "are you still single" and "why" questions yet?

You can still say "I am an attorney in Maine."

Richard Ames

"Then I get to listen to a haphazard collection of semi-helpful suggestions and questions about what I should think about doing next . . ."

Oh my God, I forgot all about that part. Don't you just hate that? You are generous in calling them "semi" helpful. I found them entirely dull and a waste of good time. After a while I felt like just telling folks that I left my job because I was starting to see spiders crawling on my desk and I was deliberately sticking clients with thumb tacks, just so I could avoid the you-should-give-so-and-so-a-call suggestions. I should have had a lot more fun with these people, really.
