I told my sailors this morning, "The rookie move is to get sunburned on your first day here. Don't let it be you." I managed to avoid the rookie move myself, with a visor on my head and three or four applications of 30. But my neck is a little pink and the backs of my shoulders are warm. This sun is scorching. We do have some rookies on our team, however. One guy's sunburn shows fingermarks where his reach ended and the sunscreen stopped. That's why you have someone rub it on your back for you.
We had a long day today. I had a group running on the beach with me at 7, and we sailed all day. I've got meetings with different sailors to talk about the 7 ways to screw up a race at 8:30. Phew.
I thought "This Is My Life" was going to end with Scheherazade being pulled over by the Coasties for reckless driving and wake creation. Well, your ending is nicer.

I'd go with a SPF 45, or better yet, clothing that is SPF 50 rated. Florida sun after a long cloudy New England winter is a bit vicious.

I am born and raised in Florida. Today, my face hurts 'cause I stayed after my soccer game to watch the next game and drink beer with my buds.
If this can happen to a Floridian, imagine the pain a Down Easter could wind up in.
Be safe!
